One-club Southampton icon Jason Dodd has told Love Sport Radio that he believes Tottenham Hotspur star Kyle Walker-Peters is similar to Liverpool superstar Trent Alexander-Arnold following the Englishman’s loan move to St Mary’s.
Walker-Peters, 22, managed just one appearance since Jose Mourinho took charge of the Lilywhites earlier in November. A lack of game-time forced the England youth international to looking outside the capital for opportunities – with central defenders Jan Vertonghen and Japhet Tanganga prefered in the full-back positions.
The youngster was not included in the Southampton side that lost 4-0 to Premier League champions-elect Liverpool last time out whilst he was unable to play against his parent club due to loan rules meaning he missed the Saints’ 3-2 defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday.

Southampton icon Dodd, though, is excited to see Walker-Peters on the south-coast with the defender’s first potential taking place against Burnley on February 15. His excitement, however, did prompt a huge claim after the former Southampton care-taker manager compared Walker-Peters’s attacking prowess to that of Ballon d’Or nominee Alexander-Arnold.
