The coronavirus pandemic in the UK took a new turn on Monday evening as it was announced that the country was on the cusp of lockdown with the public told to stay in doors with the exception of picking up essential supplies, going to work if key staff or one form of exercise per day.

There is little suggestion football will be starting up anytime soon with the situation gripping the country’s game tighter and tighter.

Aberdeen have been the latest club to raise their concerns about the difficult situation and the tough decisions which lied ahead. We will have all the latest throughout the day.

Popular Manchester City Live News

Ianis Hagi could make the move to Lazio, report Corriere dello Sport.

The Romanian star is on loan at Rangers from Genk, but if he doesn't sign a permanent deal the Serie A side reckon they could get him for around €5-6m.

Odsonne Edouard is a target for Arsenal, according to reports.

The Frenchman is seen as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if he joins Barcelona or Manchester United.

Edouard is valued at around £30m and has previously been linked with Leicester City.

Celtic are keen on French defender Brandon Soppy, but face a difficult challenge in signing him.

According to Eurosport, German side RB Leipzig are at the front of the queue for the £7m-rated 18-year-old.

Ex-Celtic striker has hit out at Hearts chief Ann Budge's decision to ask players to take a 50% reduction in salary.

Captain Steven Naismith agreed but Nicholas thinks it is just Hearts preparing for relegation.

In his Daily Express column, he said: "Budge has rightly been praised for the positive things she has done, but she has got it badly wrong this time.

"I believe it is a major blunder and it looks like Budge has decided to take the pain of relegation just now. The baffling thing is they are still just four points away from securing Premiership survival. The whole situation is a basket case scenario."

He added: "Budge has had the blinkers on ever since she gave Craig Levein free rein. The balance of the side looked good when he had the likes of Harry Cochrane coming through, but since then it has gone badly wrong.

"Hearts have made some brutally bad decisions. It doesn’t matter how shrewd Budge is in business and that they have a new stand – we deal in results and Hearts are bottom of the table."

The Parkhead side were reported to have made an offer for the Sheffield Wednesday striker.

But the club's owner Dejphon Chansiri rejected the speculation.

He said: "My people also told me Celtic had supposedly made an offer but we demanded a very big loan fee that stopped the deal.Again, this is not true, there was no official approach or offer at all."

Charlie Nicholas has said Rangers fans would be "up in arms" if the club conceded the title to Celtic.

Writing in his Daily Express column, the ex-Celtic striker responded to John Harton's comments that the Ibrox side should move to 'concede' the title to their rivals.

He said: "There is no chance of Rangers getting praise from anywhere. Their own fans would be up in arms. Rangers can’t concede the title, and why should they?"

Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack issued a stark warning to Scottish clubs over the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on football.

The Dons chief told fans that the "situation is clearly unsustainable" with money going out and none coming in.

He told BBC Scotland: “I don’t believe there is any club in Scotland – and I mean any club in Scotland – that can survive six-to-nine months of this. And I don’t wish to be scaremongering, but we are budgeting for this to be fully three-to-six months.”

Rangers will look to move on Brandon Barker in the summer, according to .

The winger has failed to make his mark since joining from Manchester City in August. He has made just four starts prior to the league shutting down.

It is believed that Barker was brought in by former director of football Mark Allen and that he has an abundance of talent, but can't replicate what he does in training in games.

Meanwhile, Kai Kennedy is expected to become a more prominent member of Steven Gerrard's first team next season.

The highly-rated 17-year-old was handed minutes against Stranraer in the Scottish Cup in January.

We will have all the latest news and transfer speculation from around Scottish football as coronavirus continues to grip the UK.
